25hours Hotel Indre By

Colorful and fun in the heart of Copenhagen. In a former porcelain factory and university building, minutes from Nørrebro station, lies 25hours Hotel Indre By. The 243 rooms range from a single room to gigantic suites, each with its own colorful, art-filled design.

Hotel Sanders

Hotel Sanders is a five-star hotel that has been voted one of the best hotels in Scandinavia multiple times. The 54-room hotel is located only meters from the popular tourist spot Nyhavn and the Danish Royal Theatre, so it couldn’t be more central.

The design in Hotel Sanders is impeccable, with lots of wicker, wood, fireplaces, and cozy nooks. You could say it’s filled with Danish hygge. The hotel has a plant-filled roof terrace, a courtyard, and a cocktail bar, all styled to perfection.

Hotel Sanders is a pricy hotel, but if you can afford it and you love design, it’s worth it. And you can always subscribe to their newsletter for special offers (while I’m writing this, they have a ‘stay 3 nights, pay for 2’ offer).

The loft apartments you stay in are stylish, functional, and big enough to be called home for a longer period. With the ability to screen off the sleeping area, the whole loft can be further adjusted to become cozy, business-like, or something in between.

The Zoku Loft can be personalized with art from the art swap in the hallways and comes with all the necessary residential and business facilities.

And the hotel also features amazing social spaces to play, work, meet, and live in. The Zoku Living Kitchen serves simple, honest, healthy, and delicious food.

Zoku Copenhagen is located on the Amager island, and the city center is just five minutes away by metro. And as Copenhagen is a city for biking, you can also hire bicycles at the hotel.

Brøchner Hotels

Brøchner Hotels is a hotel chain with luxury boutique hotels in Copenhagen. At the moment they have 6 hotels to choose from in Copenhagen, and next year they will also dive into the hostel market with a stylish design hostel in Aarhus (the 2nd city in Denmark). But in this post I’m staying in Copenhagen, so let’s take a look at the best Brøchner Hotels.

Hotel Danmark

Hotel Danmark is centrally located at walking distant from the Central Station, Glyptoteket and Christiansborg Palace. I’ve stayed twice at this hotel and I can say it’s an ideal location to explore Copenhagen.

You’ll see lots of marble, green tones, and brass fixtures in the rooms ranging from a bunk bed room, small single rooms to a junior suite. The only downside for me is that they don’t have a restaurant, but they do serve an organic breakfast.

Hotel SP34

Hotel SP34 is located in the Latin Quarter of Copenhagen. The Latin Quarter is a bohemian area with design shops and restaurants at only 500 meters from Tivoli. SP34 is decorated in a combination of raw materials like concrete combined with warm wood. Very Scandinavian!

Hotel Ottilia

Hotel Ottilia is the newest addition to the Brøchner family. It’s located a bit out of the city center but the hotel rents out bicycles so you’re in the city centre in no time.

The hotel is located in the Carlsberg District which is a vibrant up-and-coming area of Copenhagen where a lot of new shops and urban restaurants pop up.

The hotel is designed in an industrial style with lots of raw concrete and stylish Danish design.

The Audo

The Audo isn’t just a hotel, it is a meeting place where the international art and design community can come together, collaborate, experiment, and incorporate the inspiration they find into a unique story that they can then share with the world.

The Audo is a collaboration between Norm Architects and the furniture company Menu. At The Audo, you’ll find a concept store, restaurant, and cafe, co-working space, gathering place, ánd hotel.

The 10 hotel rooms are carefully designed with beautiful design furniture and high-quality materials. If you’re looking for a unique and stylish stay in Copenhagen, this is it!

Nobis Hotel

Nobis Hotel is a hotel where Neoclassical architecture and sleek design are combined in a wonderful way.

The hotel is located in an early 20th-century building that used to house the Royal Danish Academy of Music and has been carefully restored to accommodate Nobis Hotel.

The hotel is light with blue and green color touches in combination with natural materials such as wood, wool, leather, and marble.

Villa Copenhagen

Villa Copenhagen is a new hotel that opened in April 2020 and quickly became a favorite for design and fashion lovers. With a rooftop pool, a bakery, and a central location, this hotel should be on the top of your list.

The hotel is located in a stately building next to Tivoli Gardens (yes, for central locations!). Villa Copenhagen houses 390(!) rooms, all designed in a light Scandinavian style with high ceilings.

If you love timeless Scandinavian style, being close to public transport, great food, and the convenience of renting a bicycle, then this is the hotel for you.

Hotel Skt Petri

Centrally located in the Latin Quarter Hotel Skt. Petri is a beautiful design hotel with cozy rooms and impressive design. The unique and spacious rooms and suites are furnished with an eye for laidback luxury – all designed in a Scandinavian style with an international touch. 

The hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation as it transitions into 1 Hotel Copenhagen, the first of its kind in Scandinavia.

Manon Les Suites

Hotel Manon Les Suites is a bohemian lover’s dream! This 5-star hotel in the center of Copenhagen is a relaxed and sustainable lifestyle hotel. Every room/suite is decorated with a canopy bed and has a little kitchenette with a fridge and coffee/tea facilities, and in the bathroom, you’ll find biological products.

The entire hotel is an urban oasis with many plants and natural materials, and it even has a small swimming pool.

The hotel also has a roof terrace, and they organize ‘lounge Fridays’ by the pool. This isn’t a quiet hotel, but if you love to stay at a fashionable and sustainable hotspot, Manon Les Suites is your hotel

Finding a beautiful hotel in Copenhagen isn’t the hard part; it’s choosing between all these amazing design hotels that isn’t easy. Do you have a favorite hotel in Copenhagen?

The three bedroom design apartment is the home of Nikolaj Paaby Normand who rents out his centrally located abode to lucky guests. The apartment is centrally located in the Vesterbro area of the Danish capitol whick makes it the ideal base for exploring the stylish Danish city.

The apartment is perfect for everyone who loves design, fun colors, texture, and art. The grand living space features beautiful wooden floors and original details paired with modern scandinavian design and large rugs that create a warm look.

The classic neutral base of the room with its high ceilings, wooden floorboards, and large windows create the perfect backdrop for the interior with a combination of textiles, colors, and patterns.

Blue is the main accent color in the apartment, it is used for the sofa but the home also features blue accent walls.

In all my years of blogging, I know that Scandinavians love good midcentury furniture pieces which you can also see in this apartment.

The use of color is also magnificent in the open-plan kitchen, dining, and sitting room. The round pink and yellow dining table is the centerpiece of the room. It is paired with a variety of colored dining chairs.

The kitchen cabinets are painted in a warm plum shade.

The kitchen also has a seating area to turn into a social room, perfect for dinner parties.

The master bedroom has a light blue accent wall that creates a calm atmosphere that is perfect for sleeping.

In total, the Copenhagen Airbnb apartment has three bedrooms.

Great Budds Oast is an 18th Century Grade 2 listed property that stands on Sallie’s family estate. Originally an ‘oast’ (Old English for kiln), it carries a rich history and now serves as a luxurious five-bedroom holiday let. Sleeping up to ten guests, it is a family-friendly retreat just outside London that also welcomes dogs to the house.

The property’s enchanting visage is accented by red bricks and crawling vines, offering a glimpse into the tranquility of the Garden of England. Sallie was inspired by historic Oast houses in Kent, and the interiors pair color with history, which turns the home into a welcoming and warm space.

Sallie wanted to turn the Oast House into a holiday home so other people from around the world could experience the beauty of the Kent Countryside. The result is personal, warm, and inviting.

The open plan living, kitchen, dinning room is Sallie’s favorite room, the colors and character captured by the antique paintings and wallpaper really bring it to life.

Many items in the house are sourced from local makers. The dining table, surrounded by ten Cox & Cox wicker chairs, was made at a local forge and the curtains are handmade by a local craftswoman.

The modern kitchen features sage cabinets and a Quartz worktop. The kitchen island with stools adds a social aspect to the kitchen space.

Antiques sourced by Sallie blend seamlessly with upcycled dressing tables and hand-painted baths. Each bed is graced with a headboard crafted by Sallie herself, adding a personal touch to every room.

Some bedrooms really show the history of the old house, the pitched ceilings with exposed wooden beams add so much character to the rooms.

The ground floor bedroom is a colorful affair with a floral headboard and pink and green color accent. Double doors give access to the green garden.

The master bedroom can be found in the round room on the first floor. Every room is decorated with color and in this room, the freestanding roll-top bath has been painted a deep green. Vibrant color accents are added in the ochre quilt and pink curtains.

The bathroom perfectly mixes old architecture with modern design. The exposed wooden beams and pitched ceiling show you the history, this is then paired with emerald green color accents and industrial elements.

The first floor is also home to a large games room with a pool table, retro-style football table, and another wall-mounted TV.

Surrounding the house lies a wonderful garden with a swimming pool (heated between the months of May and September), a lounge area, a dining table with ten chairs, and plenty of room for games. The estate features a giant chessboard, tennis court, croquet lawn, and table tennis.

The Oast is only a 10-minute drive from both Tonbridge & Sevenoaks whilst also only being a 34-minute train ride away from London. The property is also located close to several castles and historic houses in Kent.

What makes this cottage unique is that it was once owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II. The cottage was part of the Sandringham Estate. The estate, which includes Sandringham House, is a private royal residence bought by Queen Victoria in 1863 as a wedding present for her son, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, and his bride, Princess Alexandra of Denmark.

The restoration of the cottage was a labor of love for Jason and Jolene. Together with local and artisan trades and Jason’s father, they took on the year-long restoration project to turn this historic cottage into a comfortable holiday home.

The interiors of the cottage are designed by Jolene. Old and new are combined to create a natural and timeless aesthetic. Bespoke details such as custom headboards in the twin bedroom, handmade café curtains and voiles with French ruffle headings in the kitchen and bathrooms, and an ever-rotating selection of design books and unique finds throughout elevate the spaces.

Jolene was careful in her furniture and material choices. As the home is mainly used as a holiday rental, it’s important to choose pieces that are durable and timeless. The furniture pieces were chosen for their comfort and timeless designs. As well as the ability to be easily mixed with other furniture and décor pieces.

High-quality materials and practical finishes ensure that the home is always in pristine condition. For example, in the kitchen, the shaker kitchen cabinets are hand-painted in Limestone by Little Greene and can be refreshed when required.

The lime-plaster walls in the historic rooms of the cottage allow the building to breathe. And the high-quality hardware is complemented by the layering of natural materials such as wool, linen, and stone, which stand the test of time.

A few questions for Jolene

The cottage is surrounded by a large garden with an apple and pear tree that provides a yearly harvest. The garden features an outdoor dining terrace with scenic views of the greenery. The outdoor kitchen was created from reclaimed timber and has flagstone worktops and a butler sink.

The outdoor bath cabin is also made from reclaimed timber. The cabin features a tin bath that is complimented by a copper shower, which offers great views of the beautiful garden.

Casa Mye is a two-bedroom home located on the ground floor of an artistic, residential complex. As with every home that is designed by Terreo Studio, it has beautiful interiors with custom-made furniture, natural materials, decorative and storage niches, and a beautiful outdoor space with a swimming pool.

The house has an open-plan living room and kitchen with access to the private courtyard garden. The living room is small, but it has a comfortable custom built-in sofa with a round coffee table. And when you open the doors leading to the garden, you include the outdoors with the living area.

The large rustic wooden mirror makes the room feel larger and brighter. On the floor lies a jute rug to create a natural look.

From the living room, you enter the kitchen and dining area. This room also has a built-in bench, just like the sitting room. And the cushions in the same blue shade create a harmonious natural look.

On the opposite side sits a small but perfectly functional kitchen with rustic wooden cabinets and a black worktop with a backsplash. The shelf above the cabinets keeps it airy.
