A Swedish Attic Apartment with a Lovely Balcony Overlooking the City
Today, we’re going to tour a beautiful attic apartment with slanted ceilings, located on the top floor of an early 20th century apartment building. The apartment showcases a perfect mix of modern Scandinavian design with historical elements like exposed wooden beams from the year the house was built.
Despite the slanted ceilings, the 45 square meter apartment doesn’t feel cramped or uncomfortable. In the living room, the apartment actually has a pretty high ceiling where you can beautifully see the wooden beam structure of the attic.

From the front door, you immediately enter the open plan living room and kitchen. High pitched ceilings and fresh white walls give a bright atmosphere to the room. Two beautiful dormer windows and a skylight provides the room with natural light.
Despite the modest floor plan, the apartment has a fairly big kitchen made from classic style cabinets painted in a muted gray tone. With counterspace on two sides and plenty of cabinets, there is enough space to cook a great meal.
Between the kitchen and the sitting area stands a beautiful vintage wooden table that adds a warm touch to the white and gray space.
Above the dining table hangs the classic Herstal’s Manola chandelier in brass.
The owners created a lovely work area under one of the dormer windows. The small wall space above the opening is fitted with a bookshelf to maximize storage space.
On the other side of the hall lies the small bedroom with low slanted ceilings. In this room, you can also see the history of the building as it features a white painted exposed brick wall.
The bedroom gives acces to a charming balcony filled with plants and comfortable seating. The balcony offers a great view over the city of Gothenburg.
The bathroom is simple with white wall tiles, a walk in shower, and marble floor tiles.
The apartment was listed at Entrance Mäkleri.
