A Swedish 1940s Apartment with Lovely Balcony Views

On the top floor of a 1940s apartment building in Stockholm lies this charming one-bedroom apartment with Dutch parquet flooring, an open-plan living space, a charming balcony, and a dark blue bedroom.

The apartment has been renovated using a palette of colors and materials that harmonize with the charm of the 1940s. In the hall, you can find the original Kolmårds marble floor tiles and a new parquet floor in a classic Dutch style that you often see in these midcentury apartments was added.

The 52-square-meter apartment has an open-plan living space with a seating area by the balcony, a round table in the center, and the kitchen on the other side.

The walls are painted in a muted gray-beige shade, adding a calm vibe to the room. With windows on two sides, the room is light and gets plenty of natural light.

The kitchen was renovated by its current owner, adding new tiles, countertop, and handles. The cabinet doors are painted in ‘Lavender Touch’ by Jotun.

The bedroom has been painted in Jotun’s ‘Evening Sky.’ There used to be a built-in wardrobe that could be accessed through the bedroom, but this has now been opened up in the hallway instead.

The hallway has its beautiful original floor tiles. On the right, you can see the wardrobe that used to be attached to the bedroom. It has now been opened in the hall and fitted with sheer curtains.
